your answer is option A. 9

areeba71: but I need the method to solve it mam
payalperiwal79: according to question ,if we want infinitely many solutions ,than a1/a2=b1/b2=c1/c2
payalperiwal79: by substituting the values of a1,a2,b1,b2,c1,c2 u can find the answer
payalperiwal79: after that u need to add the value of m and n to solve the answer
areeba71: okk
areeba71: thx

Sol'n :
5x + my = 10
4x + ny = 8

a1 = 5, b1 = m, c1 = -10
a2 = 4, b2 = n, c2 = -8

For infinite solutions,
 \frac{ a_{1} }{ a_{2}} = \frac{ b_{1} }{ b_{2}} = \frac{ c_{1}}{ c_{2}} \\ = > \frac{5}{4} = \frac{m}{n} = \frac{ - 10}{ - 8}
Therefore,
 \frac{m}{n} = \frac{5}{4} \\ \\ m = 5 \: and \: n = 4

m + n = 5 + 4
= 9

Ans: (A) 9

Hope it'll help.....
