dimensions of each box 1m × 1m

number of shaded square figures
= 11

perimeter of 1 shaded square

= 4 × side = 4 × 1m = 4m

perimeter of 11 square shaped shaded figures

= 11 × 4 = 44m

diagonal of triangular shaded figure

= √2 × side = √2 × 1m = √2m

perimeter of 1 shaded triangular figure

= 1m + 1m + √2m = (2 + √2)m

number of shaded triangular figures

= 4

perimeter of 4 shaded triangular figures

= 4 × ( 2 + √2) = (8 + 4√2)m

perimeter of all shaded figures

= perimeter of 11 square shaped shaded figures + perimeter of 4 triangular shaded figures

= 44 + 8 + 4√2 = (52 + 4√2)m

= 4 (13 + √2) m

Answer: perimeter =4 (13 + √2)m
