valency of carbon (6)= Carbon is a tetravalent atom. It have 4valency. As its atomic number is 6 so k shell have 2 electrons while l shell have 4 electrons, thus outermost shell have 4 electrons so its valency is 4.
valency of neon (10)=Valency is zero, being a noble gas, does not react because of that fact. valency of neon is 0 because it has completely filledvalence{outermost} shell i.e. 8 electrons and so it is stable.
