Thanks for your question ...

Your required answer :

Given :

  • Angle CKP = 70°
  • Angle BHE = 140°
  • AB // CD

To find :

  • x and y

Solution :

  • Angle HPF = Angle CKP ( Alternate Interior angles)
  • Angle HPF = 70°

Now ,

  • Angle HPF + Angle y = 180° ( Linear Pair )
  • 70° + y = 180°
  • y = 180° - 70°
  • y = 110°

Now

  • Angle BHE + Angle EHP = 180° ( Linear Pair )
  • 140° + Angle EHP = 180°
  • Angle EHP = 180° - 140°
  • Angle EHP = 40°

Now , In traingle EPH :

  • Angle EHP + Angle y + Angle x = 180° ( Sum of all interior angles of triangle is 180° )
  • 40° + 110° + Angle x = 180°
  • Angle x = 180° - 150°
  • Angle x = 30°

Therefore :

  • x = 30°
  • y = 110°
