Answer:

I think the answer is =72 cm²(only of triangle)

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of triangle=½ x base x height

therefore ½ x 18 x 12

2 will cancel 18 by 6

so 12 x 6 = 72

SO THE ANSWER IS 72cm²

Answer:

On carefully observing the figure we realize that ABCD is a rectangle of

  • length 18m and,
  • width 12m

area of the rectangle = length x breadth

= 18 x 12

= 216 m²

2 triangles are formed within the rectangle :-

  • Δ EAF

height = EA =  8m

base = AF = 8m

  • Δ CBF

height = CB = 12m

base = FB = 10m

Area of a triangle = 1/ 2 x base x height

area of Δ EAF = 1/ 2 x 8 x 8

= 32 m²

area of Δ CBF = 1/ 2 x 10 x 12

= 60 m²

To find the area of the shaded portion :-

= area of rectangle ABCD - (area of Δ EAF + area of Δ CBF )

= 216 - (32 + 60 )

= 216 - 92

= 124 m²

Thus, the area of the shaded portion is 124 m².

(I guess this was the answer you were looking for . . . this solution contains all the areas of possible figures formed within the rectangle ABCD)
