Question: In the given figure, if TS II QR and TV || QS, then prove that PV/VS = PS/SR.

Answer:

Using similarity:

In ∆PVT and ∆PSQ,

PV/TV = PS/QS ...(1)

In ∆SVT and ∆RSQ,

SV/VT = SR/SQ ...(2)

Divide (1) by (2) :

=> (PV/TV) / (SV/VT) = (PS/QS) / (SR/SQ)

=> PV/SV = PS/SR, proved
