Answer:

5. b) Dwarfism results due to deficiency of Growth hormone.

Growth hormone(GH) is secreted by the anterior pituitary gland.

Over-secretion of GH stimulates abnormal growth of the body leading to gigantism and low secretion of GH results in stunted growth resulting in dwarfism.

Symptoms include Shortened arms and legs, A short neck, Broad, rounded chest, Slightly flattened cheekbones, slow growth pattern and unusually small stature (below average height).

Hence Dwarfism results due to deficiency of Growth hormone

c) Blood sugar level rises due to deficiency of Insulin. Insulin is a protein hormone secreted by α-cells of pancreatic Islet of Langerhans

The blood sugar level rises due to deficiency of insulin because Insulin acts mainly on hepatocytes and adipocytes (cells of adipose tissue) and enhances cellular glucose uptake and utilization. As a result, there is a rapid movement of glucose from the blood to hepatocytes and adipocytes resulting in decreased blood glucose levels (hypoglycemia).

Hence The blood sugar level rises due to deficiency of Insulin'.
