4. In a democracy, it is the people who elect their representatives as Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) and, thus, it is the people who have the main authority. The ruling party members then form the government and some members are appointed ministers. One of the most important roles of an MLA is to make Laws, or Legislation.

Parliamentary opposition is a form of political opposition to a designated government, particularly in a Westminster-based parliamentary system. e. meaning the administration or the cabinet rather than the state.The Opposition's main role is to question the government of the day and hold them accountable to the public.
