Let the two parts be x and y.

(i)

Given that their sum is 60.

⇒ x + y = 60

(ii)

3 times one part together with 4 times other equals 200.

⇒ 3x + 4y = 200

On solving (i) * 3 & (ii), we get

⇒ 3x + 3y = 180

⇒ 3x + 4y = 200

   ---------------------

           -y = -20

             y = 20

Substitute y = 20 in (1),we get

⇒ x + y = 60

⇒ x + 20 = 60

⇒ x = 40.

Therefore, the two parts are 40 and 20.

Hope this helps!
