a) 20

To make denominator 20,we have to multiply 5 with 4 ,hence -3 will also be multiplied.

-3 × 4/5×4

= -12/20

b) -40

To make denominator -40,we have to multiply 5 with -8, hence -3 will also be multiplied.

-3 × (-8) × 5 × (-8)

= 24/-40
