i. The stage is anaphase.

› The centromeres split into two and the spindle fibres pull the daughter centromeres to opposite poles.

› The separated chromatids are pulled along with the centromeres.

[ Centromere divides. The sister chromatids separate and start moving towards the opposite poles with their centromeres towards the pole and arms legging behind. ]

ii. The parts are :-

1. Centrosome

2. Spindle fibres

3. Sister chromatids

iii. The chromosome number of the cell is 20.

iv. The next stage is telophase.

› The separated sister chromatids reach the opposite poles and starts decondensation.

› The spindle apparatus disappears.

› Nuclear membrane and nucleolus reappears.
