Let the length of the rectangle be l and it's breadth be b.

Now, area of a rectangle=length×breadth

So, area=lb

According to the given conditions,

(l+5)(b-4)=lb-160

➡lb-4l+5b-20=lb-160

➡ -4l+5b= -140----(1)

(l-10)(b+2)=lb-100

➡lb+2l-10b+20=lb-100

➡2l-10b= -80-----(2)

Multiplying (2) by 2,

➡4l-20b= -160----(3)

Adding (1) and (3),

➡ -15b=-300

➡b=20 m

Now, substituting b=20 m in (1),

-4l+5(20)=-140

➡-4l+100=-140

➡ -4l= -240

➡l=60 m

Therefore, the dimensions of the rectangle are as follows:

length=60 m

breadth=20 m

Area=60×20=1200 m²
