____________________________________________________________________________

Pressure(P)= Area (A) / Force(F)

The rod A having more area of contact compared to rod B,and the forces is same because of same weight of the rods. Therefore the rod B will exert more pressure on that area than rod A. Hence, the rod B will sink more.

~(˘▾˘~) Hey! Here is your Answer ~(˘▾˘~)

___________________________

Rod B will go deeper as it has a smaller area of contact with the sand. The same force (same weight of the two rods) produces more pressure when the area of contact is smaller. In case of rod A, the same force produces lesser pressure since the area of contact is greater.
