Let, the number of two-dollar stamps be 'x' and number of five-dollar stamps be 'y'.

➡️ So, x + y = 22

Or, y = 22 - x

Now, we have,

➡️ 2x + 5y = 55

Or, 2x +5(22 - x) = 55

Or, 2x + 110 - 5x = 55

Or, 3x = 110 - 55 = 55

Or, x = 55/3.

➡️ And, y = 22 - 55/3 = 11/3.

Hence, number of two-dollar stamps is 55/3 and number of five-dollar stamps is 11/3.

➡️ Recheck,

2 * 55/3 + 5 * 11/3

= 110/3 + 55/3

= 165/3 = 55. ⬅️

The question is kinda awkward.

 That's it..

Step-by-step explanation:

Let, the number of two-dollar stamps be 'x' and number of five-dollar stamps be 'y'.

➡️ So, x + y = 22

Or, y = 22 - x

Now, we have,

➡️ 2x + 5y = 55

Or, 2x +5(22 - x) = 55

Or, 2x + 110 - 5x = 55

Or, 3x = 110 - 55 = 55

Or, x = 55/3.

➡️ And, y = 22 - 55/3 = 11/3.

Hence, number of two-dollar stamps is 55/3 and number of five-dollar stamps is 11/3. .
