7. Differentiate between the following:-

a.) Antibiotics and vaccines:-

There are few similar features of them:-

Antibiotics:-

  • Antibiotics are a kind of medicines that slowly destroys the growing bacterias.

  • This helps in stopping the multiplying of bacterias.

  • These also give many side effects.

Vaccines:-

  • Vaccines are substances that completly kills or not allows the bacteria to enter the body.

  • This also helps in the multiplying of bacterias.

  • It is believed that there are no side effects of vaccines.

b.) Pasteurisation and boiling:-

Pasteurisation:-

  • Pasteurisation is a process of heating to kill the germs/bacteria present in food and make it safe to eat.

  • This helps by killing harmful organisms which will be the cause of diseases.

Boiling:-

  • Boiling is a process of cooking raw food.

  • This process will also help in killing harmful organisms and it is also a process when liquid turns into vapour.

c.) Comunicable and non-Comunicable disease:-

Communicalbe:-

  • Diseases that easily spread from one person to the other is commonly known as Communicalbe disease.

  • Examples:- Influenza, COVID-19. etc.

Non-Communicable:-

  • Diseases that do not spread from one person to the other is commonly known as non-communicable disease.

  • Examples:- asthma, cancer. etc.

d.) Spirilla and Spirochaetes:-

Spirilla:-

  • Spirilla is basically a gram-negative bacteria. It comes under Spirillaceae family.

  • Many diseases like:- Rat-bite fever and more are caused by Spirilla.

Spirochaetes:-

  • Spirochaetes are basically a group of spiral shaped bacterias.

  • Many diseases like:- Leptospira and more are caused by spirochaetes.
