distance of first tank from him= speed of sound*time = 340*2 = 680m
distance of second tank from him= 340*3.5 = 1190m
distance between two tanks = 1190-680= 510m

distance of first tank- v*t
=2*340= 680 m
distance of second tank- v*t
=3.5*340=1190m
total distance=680+1190= 1870m
