please answer this question using simple linear equation word problem the question is
the age of a man is 27 years more than the age of his son if the sum of the ages is 47 years find the age of the son and his father .​

Answer:

let the age of son be X and the age of father be 27 + X

therefore, (27+X+X) = 47

or, (27+2X) =47

or, 2X = 47-27

or, X = 20÷2

or, X = 5

therefore, age of son is 5

and

the age of father is 27+X=27+5=32
