Please answer this question.. With explanation..

95 g of metal chloride (MCI2) contain 71 g of chlorine. The equivalent weight of metal chloride is
(1) 12
(2) 24
(3) 47.5
(4) 95

SwaroopChauhan: Here is the answer:
SwaroopChauhan: It is asked that what is the Equivalent weight of Metal Chloride (MCl2). So you just need to put the values in the formula for finding Equivalent mass which is Equivalent mass= given mass/ n-factor.
SwaroopChauhan: Here given mass of MCl2 is 95g and n-factor of MCl2 is 2 because there are 2 chlorine replacable. So 95/2 you will get 47.5 which is the correct answer. Hope it helped you.

MCl2=M+Cl2

95g=M+71g

M=95-71

M=24g

equivalent weight of Metal is 24g

from law of conservation of mass

mass of reactants=mass of product

so

M +Cl2 →MCl2

so

x+71=95

x=95-71=24

yashasvi019: yaa that's what we have proved
Megarox: yea he is telling. wrong answer
Megarox: it is 24g
ikhushi44: okay.. i will ask from my teacher..!!
yashasvi019: which class
