Answer:

s (semi perimeter)= 50+65+65 = 180m

Area of triangle = √{s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)}

= √{180(180-50)(180-65)(180-65)}

= √{180(130)(115)(115)}

= √309465000

= 17591.62m²(Approx)

Rate of laying grass = Rs.7/m²

Cost of laying grass = 7×17591.62

= Rs.123141.34

Hope it helps you!

Question~

Find the cost of laying grass in a triangular field of sides 50m, 65m & 65m at the rate of Rs.7 per m².

Given :

  • Sides of Triangular Field = 50m, 65m, and 65m.
  • Rate of laying grass = Rs.7 per m²

To find :

  • the cost of laying grass

Solution :

  • Here, laying grass is given. So, we have to find the Area of the field.

⇒ Let's find the Area.

Semi-Perimeter = a + b + c/2

                          = 50 + 65 + 65/2

                          = 180/2

                          = 90 m

Area using Heron's Formula = √s (s - a) (s - b) (s - c)

= √90 (90 - 50) (90 - 65) (90 - 65)

= √90 (40) (25) (25)

= √90 × (40) × (25) × (25)

= √2250000

= 1500 m²

⇒ Now, the cost of laying grass.

Cost of Laying Grass = Area × Rate per meter

= 1500 × 7

= 10500

  • Therefore, the cost of laying grass in a triangular field is Rs. 10500.
