Here , we have to solve the following riddle -

I speak without a mouth and hear without ears.

I have no body, but I come alive with wind.

What am I?

Here , this object does not have a mouth , but yet can speak . It does not have ears , yet it can hear .

These statements are interesting but are too vague and do not lead to anywhere as there are a lot of possibilities .

The second statement -

I have no body, but I come alive with wind.

Notice the statement carefully .

The catch phrase is - " I come alive with wind " .

Now, what comes with wind ?

  • 1. Rain

  • 2. Dust

  • 3. Sleet

  • 4. Thunder

  • 5. Sound { Echo }

.......... and we can think of many more .....

Here , we can hear the sounds produced by all in the list .

However let us try to understand the meaning of the statement , " hear without ears " .

For example , In mountainous regions, during a windy day, the sound of the wind echoes .

This means here that echo can " hear without ears " .

It comes alive with the sound of wind blowing .

Echo fits best in this category .

So , Echo is the correct answer .
