Answer:i) Bhangar and Khadar

Bhangar:

•The Bhangar lies away from the main river and is above the flood plain of river in the form of river terraces

•The Bhangar is formed of old alluvium

•As it is above the flood plain of the river ,it is used for settlement purposes

•There is presence of calcareous deposit know as kankar

Khadar:• It lies near the main river and is prone to flooding

•There is presence of new alluvium which is renewed every year after flooding

•The presence of fresh alluvium makes the Khadar region widely used for cultivation. hence, Khadar is intensively cultivated

.ii)Western Ghats and eastern ghats

Western Ghats-

•Nature: The western ghats are continuous in nature

•Height:900m to 1600m

•Location: they are parallel to the western coast

•Peaks: Anaimudi, Doda betta

•Passes: Thar ghat, pal ghat, Bhor ghat

•Type of rainfall: Orographic or relief rainfall

Eastern Ghats-

•Nature: The eastern ghats are discontinuous as they are dissected by the rivers like Mahanadi, Godavari, Krishna,Kaveri.

•Height: 600m

•Location: They stretch from Mahanadi valley to Nilgiri hills

•Peak: Mahendra Giri

•Passes: There are no passes but the rivers flowing to the bay of Bengal have dissected or cut the eastern ghats

•Type of rainfall: It doesn't receive Orographic rainfall
