(i)e.l=18cm
e.b=12 cm
il= 14 cm
ib= 8 cm

area of internal rectangle=14×8
=>112cm^2

area of external rectangle=18×12
=>216 cm^2

area of shaded region=area of er - area of ir
=>216-112
=>104 cm^2

(ii)e.l=30cm
e.b=20 cm
i.l=30-4-4=22cm
i.b=20-4-4=12cm

area of internal rect.= 22×12
=>264 cm^2

area of ext. rect.=30×20
=>600 cm^2

area of shaded region,
=600-264
=336cm^2

(iii)i.l=50cm
i.b=36 cm
e.l=50+5+5=60cm
e.b=36+5+5=46cm

area of int. rect.=50×36
=>1800cm^2

area of ext. rect.=60×46
=>2760cm^2

area of shaded region=2760-1800=960cm^2
