1. napthalene balls when kept at room temperature, start to sublime and turn into gaseous state.

2. water is liquid in room temperature as the molecules of water at this temperature move away from each other , i.e. the force of attraction decreases and thus water is in liquid form as there is still a little force of attraction between the particles at room temperature.

hope this helps

a. Naphthalene balls undergo the process of sublimation when the get heat(even at room temperature) so they disappear without leaving any solid.

Note: Sublimation is the process of conversion of a solid directly into gas and gas into solid.

b. Water is liquid at room temperature because we generally take 25°C as room temperature but boiling point of water is 100°C and melting point is 0°C. So it is not even close to either so them.Hence it is liquid.
