Given question -: find the value of k such that (x-2) is a factor of

x {3}^{}  - 4 {x}^{2}  + kx - 4

Now let's try to solve the question

Given

x - 2 = 0 \\   x = 2

Now put the value of x in above equation

 {x}^{3}  - 4 {x}^{2}  + kx - 4 = 0

 {2}^{3}  - 4 {}^{2}  + kx - 4 = 0

8 - 16 + kx - 4 = 0

4 - 16 + 2k  = 0

-12 + 2k = 0

2k =   12

k = 6
