Solution :

We have ,

\sf\:f(x)=\dfrac{x}{x-1}

\sf\implies\:f(y)=\dfrac{y}{y-1}....(1)

Given :

\sf\:f(x)=\dfrac{x}{x-1}=\dfrac{1}{y}

\sf\implies\dfrac{x}{x-1}=\dfrac{1}{y}

\sf\implies\:xy=x-1

\sf\implies\:y=\dfrac{x-1}{x}....(2)

Now put the value of y in Equation (1) then ,

\sf\:f(y)=\dfrac{y}{y-1}

\sf\implies\:f(y)=\dfrac{\frac{x-1}{x}}{\frac{x-1}{x}-1}

\sf\implies\:f(y)=\dfrac{\frac{x-1}{x}}{\frac{x-1-x}{x}}

\sf\implies\:f(y)=\dfrac{\frac{x-1}{x}}{\frac{-1}{x}}

\sf\implies\:f(y)=\dfrac{x-1}{x}\times(-x)

\sf\implies\:f(y)=-(x-1)

\sf\implies\:f(y)=1-x

Therefore,
