a) Thermal Decomposition :- Decomposition carried out by heating is called thermal decomposition.
For eg. When calcium carbonate is heated it decomposes into calcium oxide and carbon dioxide gas.
b) Electrolytic Decomposition :- Decomposition carried out by passing current is called electrolytic decomposition.
For eg. Water decompose into hydrogen and oxygen by passing current.
