Step-by-step explanation:

p×r×t/100

p=1200

r=12

t=3

so 1200×12×3/100

=432

Given :-

Principle :- ₹1200

Rate of interest :- 12%

Time :- 3 years

\:

To Find :-

The total amount to be paid at end of the period.

\:

Formula required :-

{\tt \large \dashrightarrow \orange{\boxed{\tt \gray{Simple \: Interest + Principle}}}}

\:

How to do :-

Here, we are given with the principle amount, the rate of interest and the time taken to return the money back. We should find the total amount thet the person returns back at end of the period. We can use the given formula for finding the total amount. But, in the formula the simple interest is there which is not provided in the question. So, first we should find the simple interest of the question by multiplying the principle, rate and time and then divide it by 100. The obtained answer will be the simple interest. Later, to find the total amount we can use the given formula. So, let's solve!!

\:

Solution :-

Simple interest :-

{\tt \leadsto \dfrac{1200 \times 12 \times 3}{100}}

{\tt \leadsto \dfrac{\cancel{1200} \times 12 \times 3}{\cancel{100}} = 12 \times 12 \times 3}

{\tt \leadsto 144 \times 3 = \boxed{\tt 432}}

\:

Now,

Total Amount :-

{\tt \leadsto 432 + 1200}

{\tt \leadsto \boxed{\tt Rs \: \: 1632}}

\Huge\therefore The total amount to return back at end of the period is 1632.
