4) Light-coloured eye is dominant character because when the genes in all allelic pair are unlike to each the one which manifests itself in the phenotype is said to be the dominant trait......
5) evolution is an ongoing process. The life forms that we see today around us is the result of millions of years of evolution. The classification of species is in fact a reflection of their evolutionary relationship. Life forms have common ancestors. They are related to each other in different ways. The descendants are having certain common features with organisms of their levels. their ancestors can be traced back on the basis of common features. The more characteristics of 2 species will have in common, the more closely they are related and they are classified in same group. the more differences will indicate that they may distantly related and belong to different classes.
6) HOMOLOGOUS ORGANS are those organs which have same basic structural similarities but functionally they are different. E.g- FORELIMBS OF VERTEBRATES LIKE SEAL, BAT, HORSE, MAN.
ANALOGOUS ORGAN are those organs which have similar functions but differ in structure. E.g- wings of bat and wings of insects.
7) FOSSILS are dead remains of plant and animals that are preserved by natural processes from geological past in different strata of earth.
Fossils give us realistic pictures regarding structures and can be used to establish link with the present day life forms.
It has been possible to construct a table showing the geological period and approximately time of origin of different groups of organism from such evidences.
Fossil also indicate that evolution has taken place from simple to complex in gradual way of increasing order.
