(x × y)‐¹ = [-2/3 × (-3/5)]-¹ = LHS

= (6/15)-¹

= (2/5)‐¹

= 5/2(a)

x-¹ × y-¹ = (-2/3)‐¹ × (-3/5)‐¹= RHS

= -3/2 × -5/3

= 15/6

= 5/2(b)

HERE I HAVE KEPT LHS AS, (a)PART OF THE SUM AND RHS AS,(b)PART OF THE SUM

From (a) and (b)

(x × y)‐¹ = x-¹ × y-¹

LHS = RHS

therefore..LHS=RHS

HENCE,

(x × y)‐¹ = x-¹ × y-¹

HOPE THIS HELPS :)

Answer:

x = -2/3

y = -3/5

(x × y)¹ = [-2/3 × (-3/5)]-¹ = LHS

= (6/15)-¹

= (2/5)¹

= 5/2 ..................(a)

x-¹ × y-¹ = (-2/3)¹ × (-3/5)¹= RHS

= -3/2 × -5/3

= 15/6

= 5/2..............(b)

From (a) and (b)

(x × y)‐¹ = x-¹ × y-¹

LHS = RHS

HENCE VERIFIED THAT

(x × y)‐¹ = x-¹ × y-¹ ☺️
