2. Four projectiles are fired with the same velocities at different angles with the same velocities at angle 25°, 40°, 55° and 70° with the
horizontal. The range of projectile will be largest for the one projected at angle.
A. 70°
B. 40°
C. 55°
D. 25°​

Answer: (B) 40°

Explanation:

Range = (u^2 sin 2x)/g

So, range depends on sin 2x....

Hence, we need to compare sin 2x...

A) sin 140 = sin (180-40) = sin 40

B) sin 80

C) sin 110 = sin (180-70) = sin 70

D) sin 50

Now, sin x is an increasing function in 0 < x < 90°

Thus, B will have max range.....

Followed by C, D, A
