At the end, Baba was with the author's wife, happy. This could have gone different. Such possibilities could be like-
1. The superintendent could refuse the request of the author's wife to take Baba back home.
2. The zoo management could have refused author's wife straight away to take Baba away and even to feed him.
3. If the superintendent was a rude person, he would not permit the bear Baba to go and would not have sent a letter to the zoo curator to lend a cage.
