PLEASE ASAP

An equation, f, has a domain of all whole numbers (1,2,3...) and has a range of all real numbers (1.1, 1.2, 1.3.... Does the equation represent a function? Explain why or why not.

Answer: for a relation to be called a function all the elements of first set should be associated with a UNIQUE element of second set.

here,

element 1 for first set is associated with more than 1 element.

you see

1.1

1.2

1.3

it is already shown that 1 is related to 3 elements ,so this is not a function.
