x=5+y ; xy=24 , x= 24/y

So, 5+y=24/y

y^2+5y-24=0

y^2+8y-3y-24=0

y(y+8) -3(y+8)=0

(y+8) (y-3) =0 ;

It is given that x and y are +ve

So, y=3 , x=24/y=24/3=8

(1) sum of these nos. =8+3=11

(2) diff. of their cubes=8^3-3^3=512-27=485

(3) sum of their cubes= 512+27=539
