From the figure,

We know that the quadrilateral ABCD is divided into two triangles.

Area of a triangle=1/2 ×b×h

Now area of triangle ADC=1/2×AC×DM

1/2× 24×7

=84 cm²

Similarly area of triangle ABC=1/2×24×8

=96 cm²

Area of the quadrilateral= Sum of the areas of the two triangles

=84+96

=180 cm²
