+Answer & Step-by-step explanation:

Let the one's place digit of the number = x

Then, the ten's place digit of the number = 8 - x

Original Number = (8-x) 10 + x(1)

                            = 80 - 10x + x

                            = 80 - 9x

When digits are reversed,

One's place digit becomes = 8 - x

Ten's place digit becomes = x

New Number = (10)x + (8 - x) 1

                      = 10x - x + 8

                       = 9x + 8

According to question,

3 (80 - 9x) = 9x + 8 + 16

240 - 27x = 9x + 24

240 - 24 = 36x

216 = 36x

x = 6

8 - x = 8 - 6

8 - x = 2

So, original number = 80 - 9x

                                 = 80 - 9 (6)

                                 = 80 - 54

                                 = 26                                          (ANS.)
