Snell's law (also known as Snell–Descartes law and the law of refraction) is a formula used to describe the relationship between the angles of incidence and refraction. The angle of incidence is the angle between the incident ray and the surface, and the incident ray, reflected ray, and the normal, all lie in the same plane. The Law of Reflection states the angle of incidence ( θ i ) is equal to the angle of reflection ( θ r ) and that the reflected ray lies in the plane of incidence.
