Two polygons with the same shape but not necessarily the same size are called similar polygon.
Similar polygon have corresponding angles that are congruent and corresponding sides that are proportional.

Scale factor:
In similar polygons the ratio of 1 side of a polygon to the corresponding side of the other polygon is called the scale factor.

In this figure :
18/6 = 27/X
X= (27×6)/18
X= 9
The value of X is 9

Scale factor= 18/6 & 27/9= 3/1
Scale factor is 3/1
