Answer:

Your Answer is Wrong.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:------

cos a = 7/8

 \frac{(1 +  \sin(a))(1 -  \sin(a))  }{(1 +  \cos(a))(1 -  \cos(a) )}

Proof:--------

 \frac{(1 +  \sin(a))(1 -  \sin(a) ) }{(1 +  \cos(a) )(1 -  \cos(a)) }

 =  \frac{1 -  { \sin}^{2}a }{1 -  { \cos }^{2} a}

 =  \frac{ { \cos}^{2}a }{1 -  { (\frac{7}{8} )}^{2} }

 =  \frac{ { ( \frac{7}{8} ) }^{2} }{1 -  { \frac{49}{64} }}

  = \frac{ \frac{49}{64} }{ \frac{64 - 49}{64} }

 =  \frac{49}{64 - 49}

 =  \frac{49}{15}

Therefore, the answer is 49/15 and so your answer is wrong. Your mistake was in the second step itself while substituting values.

Hope it helps you.

Good Luck.
