One day, Ram was going to the market. Suddenly, an old man, who was crossing the road, was knocked down by a speeding jeep. The jeep did not stop and just continued on its way. For a minute, Ram did not know what to do. He thought the passers-by would stop and take the man to the hospital but no one did. So he kneeled down by the man to see if he was still conscious when he saw that the old man was Kirti- his classmate's- grandfather. He ran to the nearest phone booth and called her home. Her parents came rushing to the spot and took him to the hospital. the doctor said that the timely action by Ram helped save the old man's life. Kirti and her parents thanked Ram.
