Solution :-

Here,

  • Height of cylinder = Height of cone
  • Radius of cylinder = Radius of cone
  • Height = h, radius = r

Important formulae

  3. Volume of cone
  4. volume \: of \: cone =  \frac{1}{3}\pi {r}^{2}  h

Answer

Volume of shaded region = volume of cylinder - volume of cone

volume \: of \: shaded \: region \:  = (\pi {r}^{2} h) -  (\frac{1}{3} \pi {r}^{2}h) \\   = (\pi \times  {7}^{2}  \times 20) - ( \frac{1}{3} \pi  \times {7}^{2}  \times 20) \\  =( \pi \times 49 \times 20) -  (\frac{1}{3} \pi \times 49 \times 20) \\  = 980\pi -  \frac{980\pi}{3}  \\  =  \frac{2,940\pi - 980\pi}{3}  \\  =  \frac{1960\pi}{3}  \\  =  \frac{1960}{3}   \times  \frac{22}{7}  \\  = 2,053.33.. {cm}^{3}
