Challenge of expansion : It refers to the challenge where the it is need to spread democracy.

▪◽♦ We can overcome this by:
▪ applying the basic principles of democracy to all the region's social groups and institutions.
▪ Giving greater power to local government.
▪ expanding federal principle.

Example of country that face this type of challenge are : India, USA, etc.


Challenge of deepening : It refers to the challenge where it is needed to apply all the principle of democracy from root level to the broader level.

▪◽♦ We can overcome this by :

▪ Strengthen the institutions and practice of democracy.
▪ Bring down the control and influence of rich and powerful people in politics.
