1.In the story "THE LITTLE GIRL" describe that mansfield may be exploring the theme of control. There is a sense that is a her mother and the servants in the house appeared to be the responsibility her a father. Who controls every individual. Each individual mentioned in the house with the exception of Kezia's father is female. It is possible that mansfield is attempting to the highlight the control that the male exerts over the female. This attitude of her father is however proving to be very detrimental to Kezia's relationship with her father. She stutters when she talks to him as if she is in fear of him. As this story is named "THE LITTLE GIRL" describes that the girl is still very small girl. Her age is of importance because the little one is oblivious of the position of the female in the society. One would expect her to leave her life with an element of freedom due to the fact that she was a small child.
Now a days many parents are understanding and they keep the relation of their and their child as best friends. They also understands the problem faced by the child, and parents makes us understand when we commit mistakes rather than beating with stick (as in the story Kezia is beaten by her father with stick).
So therefore, the relationship of parents should be good so that children can share their problems freely.
2.The port chose the less travelled road as it looked beautiful and he also wanted to have an adventure.
3.The wind symbolises challenges in one's life.
4.The wind blows out the weak fires but makes the strong fires roar and flourish. Thus the poem conveys the idea that nobody cares for the weak. Even the wind is on the side of the strong people. The poem opens with a plea to the wind to blow gently and not to cause damage.
5.The poet loves rain because it carries him in old memories. He thinks it isbliss to hear the sound of the rain on the roof.
