when u drive the car forward from the initial point it is positive and just drive the car reverse i.e. backwards to the initial point to get the dispacement negative. Displacement is zero when you go a round from the initial point and reach the same point.... example when the road is in a circle shape

∴ Distance covered by the cyclist = 2 × 22/7 × 98 = 616 m

Time taken by the cyclist = 2 min 34 sec = 154 sec

∴ Average Speed of the cyclist = 616/154 = 4 m/s
