Being a student means you need to remain fit, both physically and mentally. Student life is one of the most enjoyable phases where you are working hard for a better future. But it also requires you to toil hard for which you desperately have to rely on your self which is both physically and mentally fit. It is necessary for a student to eat, sleep, think and exercise well in order to handle the stress and study pressure, to score well in exams and to live a life free from sickness of all sorts. While it is a matter of great happiness and satisfaction to have been blessed with a healthy life, one should always strive towards maintaining their health by following a variety of measures.

Below are the ways in which students can keep themselves fit and fine:

1) Early to Bed and Early to Rise:

This saying by Benjamin Franklin may sound a bit conventional and stereotypical but this is what exactly a student needs to perform. It is necessary for a student to get a minimum of 8 hours sleep every night. So the ideal sleep timings will be from 11 pm- 6 am. It not only renders you fresh during the day but also maintains your physical appearance in a proper manner by saving you from various facial perils like dark circles, puffy eyes, etc.

2) Sweat, Smile and Shine:

Meditation is the best and easiest exercise that a student can undertake. Generally, mornings are the best time to perform any sort of exercise. After waking up in the morning and before your breakfast, meditate.

3) Walk to School/College:

Taking a bus or cab might be the most convenient option but remember that walking always acts as the best substitute. However, it may not be that convenient for some who reside miles and miles away from their school/college.

5) Healthy Food Intake:

While it is possible to get lured into eating a large scale junk food, especially when your institute is in the middle of an eat-only-street, avoid eating such things. “You are what you eat!” Instead opt for more healthy and nutritious food such as vegetables, meat, fish, yoghurt, fruits, etc. Undertake a balanced diet for a perfect mental and physical health.

8) Maintain A Proper Hygiene:

It is possible to give into pollution given the kind of the environment we live in today. But a sense of personal hygiene is really important to keep us fit even in the midst of filth and stench.

Take a shower daily and wash your hands and feet thoroughly.

Get a mild cleanser and scrubber for your face and pat dry with a towel after washing.

Avoid borrowing or lending your personal stuff like combs, brushes, makeup, etc. from/to your friends and classmates.

Make it a point to keep your surroundings clean and fresh.

9) Refrain From Smoking And Drinking:

Teen life always brings with it a lot of perils. It is easy to get lured by peer pressure into doing things like smoking and drinking which is not only bad for a student’s health but also brings a bad reputation to him/her as a student in the long run. So be aware for that.

Student life is a phase that is equally tough and challenging like the other phases in an individual’s life. But a healthy body and positive mind is what it takes to sail through it smoothly.
