But can you tell why we are writing sales over there and not writing goods????

Explanation:

all the goods are for sale purpose they are not for personal use.when the word goods is written it maens these goods are for sale purpose . when the name of some thing is written it means its a asset. when the asset is sold so we didn't write sales but when we sold goods we write sales.in accounts the word sales and name of a thing have a different meaning.

FOR EXAMPLE-

suppose we have a cloth shop and we sold clothes so in books of accounts we wrote-

cash a/c dr.

to sales a/c

but in a cloth shop if we sold our computer tgen it should be recorded as-

cash a/c dr.

to computer a/c.
