although the answer is
$x=\frac{a^{3} -b^{3} }{a}$
and
$y= \frac{a^{3} +b^{3} }{a}$

and
question is
$x(a-b + \frac{ab}{a-b} )= y (a+b-\frac{ab}{a+b} )$
x+y=2a²
