Here, BC = 15 m, AC = 12 m. We have to find AB.

In the right angled ΔABC,

By Pythagoras theorem,

= > AC^2 + AB^2 = BC^2

= > (12)^2 + AB^2 = (15)^2

= > 144 + AB^2 = 225

= > AB^2 = 225 - 144

= > AB^2 = 81

= > AB = 9m.

Therefore, Distance of the foot of the ladder = 9m.
