 \frac{x - 7}{3}  =  \frac{2x - 1}{2}

CROSS MULTIPLING BOTH:-

 : \longrightarrow \: 2(x - 7) = 3(2x - 1)

★OPEN THE BRACKETS NOW:-

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  :  \longrightarrow \:  \: 2x - 14 = 6x - 3

TRANSFER X VARIABLES TO ONE SIDE AND NUMBERS TO THE OTHER.

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  :  \longrightarrow \: 6x - 2x =  - 14 + 3

 \longmapsto \: { \boxed{ \underline{ \tt{ \blue{x =  \frac{ - 11}{4} }}}}}

WHAT IS CROSS MULTIPLICATION??

◑ In a cross multiplication method, we multiply the numerator of one fraction to the denominator of other and denominator of the first term to the numerator of another term.

HOW DOES IT WORK??

Multiplying the top and bottom of a fraction by the same amount doesn't change its value.

  • Multiply the top and bottom of the first fraction by the bottom number of the second fraction.

  • Multiply the top and bottom of the second fraction by the bottom number that the first fraction had.
