"Numbers fly through imagination..."

♧♧RULES♧♧

When a number is divisible by 3, the sum of its digits be divisible by 3 also.

♧♧Solution♧♧

In this problem, we will find the smallest digit only.

a)

Let, the digit is = x.

Then,
3 + x + 8 = 3k (for any integer k)

=> 11 + x = 3k

When x = 1, the sum (11+x) = 12 is surely divisible by 3.

So, the required number is = 318.

b)

Let, the digit is = y.

Then,

9 + 6 + y + 7 = 3k' (for any integer k')

=> 22 + y = 3k'

When y = 2, the sum (22+y) = 24 is surely divisible by 3.

Therefore the required number is = 9627.
