Given:

• Length of saree = 5m =5×100 = 500 cm
• Breadth of saree = 1.25 m ×100 = 125 cm
• Area of saree without border =

$500 \times 125 = 62500$

Now length of saree without border =

$500 - (20 + 20) = 460$

Breadth of saree without border

$125 - (20 + 20) = 85$

Area without border =

$460 \times 85 = 39100$

Area of border

$62500 - 39100 = 23400$
